Let’s face it, life can be hard AF at times.

Some days are great, while others are the absolute worst.

When the bad days outweigh the good ones, that’s usually a sign something needs to be done… fast. You may feel as though you’re stuck in an endless, inescapable loop of unhappiness.

Just so you know: You can break free, and there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to get to the root of it all.

Sometimes, you’re not entirely sure what it is that needs to be fixed, so you have to be your very own detective.

Here are seven questions you can ask yourself when you’re not happy with your life, and want to make a change or two.

1. Should I Move To A New Place?

I recently made a huge life change of moving from New York, all the way across the country to Los Angeles. It was a move I knew I always wanted to make, I just didn’t know when.

It wasn’t until I reached a real low in my life when I realized now is the time.

I’m a firm believer that everyone should move around to truly find where they belong in this world.

2. Is This Job Making Me Miserable?

You spend around eight hours a day at your job. You probably spend more time with your co-workers than your friends and family.

If you’re at a place that’s making you seriously miserable, that’s a major problem.

Don’t be afraid of losing the comfort of having a job — you will find something else. No job is worth costing you your happiness.

3. Do I Need To Expand My Social Circle?

Sometimes, it’s fun to have friends who like to gossip, but once it becomes a constant stream of negativity, it can have a toxic effect on your well-being.

You have to stop and think, are your friends bringing positivity into your life, or are they only bringing on the drama? If it’s the latter, it may be prime time to reevaluate your friendships, and expand your social circle.

4. Am I In A Relationship That’s Brining Me Down?

If you find yourself constantly fighting with your SO, maybe it’s time to take a break.

I know it can be difficult to leave someone who you love, and being single might sound scary to some, but it’s not.

Any toxic relationship in your life is not worth your time or effort. No love should require more sacrifices than good memories.

5. Will A Pet Make Me Happier?

Some people dealing with anxiety and depression adopt pets for pet therapy. When my dad got really sick, I adopted a cat who became my best friend and helped me get through a very trying time.

Maybe you just need a furry companion to bring you a little bit of happiness. Plus, no one can be sad when they’re cuddling with a loving cat.

6. Do I Need A Vacation?

Sometimes, it’s not a major life change that you need to break your sadness. It could just be that you’re in need of a tropical getaway.

If it’s been a long time since you took a mental break and ventured to a new place, now is the time. Everyone needs a vacation; we all need a life timeout to reset and recharge.

7. Who Can I Reach Out To?

A lot of the time we underestimate just how much the people in our lives can be there for us.

If you’re going through a rough patch, there’s most likely always a friend or family member who can sympathize and help. You just have to stop and think about your support group, and who you feel comfortable opening up to.

We all deserve happiness… so go out there and get it!
