On Thursday, the jury was shown video from a security camera put on his three-story residence that also recorded sound. The footage allegedly showed Swedish/Tunisian national Hemissi conducting reconnaissance in the days leading up to the killing, according to the court. Hemissi is purportedly dressed as a street cleaner in one video, donning a latex mask, sunglasses, and high-visibility work attire while wielding a litter picker and a black garbage bag.
He had been in the neighborhood for more than four hours when he was approached by Jeremy Lyons, a local whose suspicions were piqued while walking his dog, according to the jury. A video from the next day shows a man dressed in dark attire, including a scarf firmly wrapped beneath his chin, a knitted hat pulled down over his ears, sunglasses, and a different latex mask.
CCTV officer Detective Constable Jonathan Moore, from the Metropolitan Police, said: “My impression from looking at this clip and close-ups of the litter picking clip is this individual is wearing a mask, which is why he has the scarf done up tight, the hat pulled down and sunglasses. “The mask is always expressionless, and the mouth doesn’t move. “You can see it is two separate masks from the definition of the nose. There are two different masks in play here.”
