In November 2015, he was found guilty of seven counts of honest services fraud, extortion, and money laundering. Silver, on the other hand, would not go down without a fight, and the conviction was overturned by the United States Supreme Court. Prosecutors retried him on a charge that was tailored to the court’s decision, as well as accusing him of supporting legislation that benefited real estate developers who referred tax work to the law firm.
