Brigitte Bardot Inspired Hairstyle Tutorial

Brigitte Bardot – the famous 60’s sex kitten,  known for taking the blonde bombshell look to the next level. Think big bouffant, cat’s eye flicks, cute bikinis and sexy off-the-shoulder tops – Yep, she’s THAT Bardot! No wonder she’s still a style icon decades later.

To celebrate her birthday this week we’re going to show you how to create your very own bombshell look – whatever your hair colour. Did you know Bardot was originally a brunette?

You’ll need:

Sectioning comb
Fine-toothed comb for backcombing
Curling wand or iron
Hair grips
Hairspray

Brigitte Bardot was known for her heavy 60s fringe. But don’t worry if you’re not up for the chop, there’s an easy way to fake the look.

First, create a centre parting. Then, on one side of your parting, make a section by drawing a line from your ear, up to your parting. Pull this section of hair forward and clip the rest of your hair our of the way for now.

Now backcomb the section you’ve just created to give it some extra volume, then gently and loosely sweep it back and behind your ear and pin in place. Repeat this on the other side of your parting and then release the rest of your pinned back hair.

Now for the fun bit, it’s Bardot bouffant time. Take small sections of hair from around your crown and backcomb them by taking your comb and gently pushing down towards your roots.

Now gather up the backcombed hair for you bouffant and smooth over it with your comb so it’s neat and then secure it in place at the back of your head with some hair grips. Give your bouffant a good spritz of hairspray to keep it in place.

Now turn your attention to the ends of your hair. You need to grab your curling wand and curl a few sections to create that sexy, tousled wavy look. Wrap each section of hair around your curling wand, hold for a few seconds, and then release.

Once you’re finished curling, brush through your hair to create loose waves. And there you have it, gorgeous hair worthy of a screen goddess!
