Steven died in a car accident after a few years. Cary used to stay with his uncle Jesse who used to molest him. Later, he too was murdered. While he hid the body of July, he burned down the car in which he kept the other two bodies.

But later, police took a trace of him with the clue of ‘International Scout’ car parked at the site which belonged to Cary. The FBI launched a manhunt and caught him. After much interrogation, he broke down and admitted all the killings.

Also, sufficient evidence was found regarding his murder of Armstrong. Though his lawyers tried to give the excuse that his family had a mental health issue and Cary is insane, but the Jury found him quite sane. He was convicted of all four murders and was pronounced a death sentence on 12th December 2002. Currently, he is imprisoned at San Quentin Penitentiary.
