In an interview, Muska explains how he developed the love of skateboarding. Before he started riding skateboards, he had a BMX bike and would watch other kids ride their skateboards. One day, his bike got stolen and all he had left was a skateboard he got from one of the neighborhood kids. From there on, all he did was skate.
In Arizona, he met and was skateboarding with a current skateboarding legend, Erik Ellington. He later moved to Mission Beach in San Diego with little money, a sketchbook and a portable cassette player so that he can pursue skateboarding and art.

After parting ways with Maple, he joined Toy Machine and became a leading member of the team. Some issues ensued at Toy Machine which led him to join Shorty’s brand. He did really well here and was also sponsored by éS skate Shoe Company.
After leaving Circa in 2005, he joined Element Skateboards in 2006. He founded the Supra footwear the same year with Angel Cabada from One Distribution. He has been endorsing the shoe brand ever since. He introduced a new version of the Berrics indoor skateboard facility in early 2013 and has been a referee numerous times at the Battle at the Berrics contest.
