Christi Ruth Paul is an American media personality working as  a weekday news anchor for HLN and weekend anchor for CNN’s New Day and previously served as an anchor, consumer reporter and weathercaster in Phoenix first at KNXV, then at CNN affiliate KTVK.

Christi is married to Peter Paul whom she met in 2002. The duo started dating before exchanging their marriage vows in June 22nd  2003 at a beach in Kauai. She was previously married to reporter and news anchor Rob Koebel. The two met back when Christi was working for WDTW, and together they moved to Boise and later Phoenix. However, their marriage eventually ended in divorce citing abuse as the reason for their separation.

Christi  works as a  weekend anchor for CNN’s New Day a weekday news anchor for HLN , which is owned by parent company CNN,  Here she has  covered numerous high profile events, including the second inauguration of President Barack Obama. She also covered the first hours of several school shootings, at Virginia Tech and the Newtown CT school. She did extensive coverage of Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, and other reports she’s done include coverage of presidential elections and high profile court cases, such as of Drew Peterson, Warren Jeffs and Dr. Conrad Murray,

Paul launched “Find Our Children,’ a broadcast partnership with The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington, DC. HLN features a segment about a missing child, asking viewers to help find them and to date, 35 of the children they’ve profiled have been brought home safe and sound. In 2012, NCMEC honored Paul with their prestigious Hope Award, an award she shares with past winners such as former Secretary of State Colin Powell, then-Senator Joe Biden and actor Ben Affleck.

Prior to working for CNN, Paul also worked at  WDTV, Clarksburg, West Virginia as a reporter, photographervand news anchor. She then moved to the Phoenix, Arizona-based CNN affiliate KTVK, as a consumer reporter and anchor .Paul then moved briefly to the ABC affiliate KNXV also located in Phoenix, working as a weathercaster and as a news anchor, before again moving, to the NBC affiliate KTVB, this time located in Boise, Idaho mainly  as a reporter and anchor, but including some production work too. During this time, she was honored by the Idaho Press Club for her coverage of Julianne Prudhomme, a young girl who underwent a five-organ transplant.

She is the author of a book entitled “Love Isn’t Supposed to Hurt” (published in 2012), a memoir of her marriage and the abuse she received from Koebel (named “Justin” in the book. The book is about overcoming verbal and emotional abuse. She has recorded two songs in Nashville that coincide with the book; “Wake Up In It” and “Free” can both be found on iTunes. Paul has performed onstage with Grammy winners Richard Marx and David Foster as well as singing the National Anthem for MLB and NBA games for The Atlanta Braves, The Arizona Diamondbacks, the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavs among others.

Paul also serves on the National Advisory Council for the One Love Foundation in honor of Yeardley Love, the University of VA Lacrosse player beaten to death by her boyfriend, and is also involved with Girl Talk Inc., an organization where high school girls mentor middle school girls to help build self-esteem and combat bullying.

During her time in the university, she competed in several pageants, and won the Miss Manfield (Ohio) pageant, leading her to another win in the Miss Greater Cleveland pageant. She also competed at the Miss Ohio pageant in 1993, and was the third runner-up.
