At the 2003 NBA Draft, David West became the 18th overall pick of the New Orleans Hornets. His breakthrough season came in 2005 when he was able to average 7.4 rebounds and 17.4 points. The following season, he was able to make 18.3 points and 8.2 rebounds. In the 2007-08 season, he was in his first-ever NBA all-star game. In 2011, he became a free agent.
