Miguel Angel Family and early life

From Félix Gallardo wiki, he was born in the Mexican state of Sinaloa in 1946 and after completing his schooling, Felix began to work as a Sinaloa State Police Trooper. Rafael’s capture by the military, persuades Avilés to relocate to the busier
Guadalajara area. His employer sends him to Guadalara to meet with the city’s
Bosses, the Naranjo brothers. Accompanied by Rafael and a reluctant Ernesto
Fonseca Carrillo, Félix Gallardo arrives in Guadalajara and mocks one of the brothers
when he refuses his plan. The group is then captured by the DFS, and Félix
Gallardo persuades the DFS officers to take him to Juan José Esparragoza
Moreno, a director of the DFS who has also smuggled drugs.

Intrigued by Caro’s
seedless sinsemilla weed, Esparragoza kills the other Naranjo brother, and
allows Félix Gallardo to grow his plants in Guadalajara. Earlier, in the middle
of the desert, Miguel, Rafael and Ernesto drive over to the large patch of land
where Miguel declares his plans to establish a drug empire. The property

Rafael and his mother are planning a bogus elope abduction together. The father of the girl, the education secretary and a member of the powerful PRI party are setting up a Rafael manhunt. Miguel instructs Rafael to report to the authorities, but then changes his mind, letting him lay low with Don Neto in the countryside. Osuna Nava contacts Miguel and forces him to deliver an American weapons cache to a Nicaraguan armed insurgency group. Arrest of Félix Gallardo

Félix
Gallardo kept a low profile, and moved to Guadalajara City with his family in
1987. He was arrested in Mexico on 8 April 1989 and charged with the kidnapping
and murder of DEA agent Enrique Camarena, racketeering, drug smuggling and
other violent crimes by the authorities in Mexico and the United States.

Gallardo also spent time as a guest at the house of the governor of Sinaloa,
which Governor Antonio Toledo Corro refuted, according to US officials. When
asked about his association with Félix Gallardo, Governor Toledo said he was
“unconscious of any arrest warrants outstanding” against Félix
Gallardo.

Félix
Gallardo’s arrest was the impetus to expose the widespread corruption in Mexico
at the political and law enforcement levels. Within days of the arrest of Félix
Gallardo, and threatened by the media, many police officials were arrested and
as many as 90 officers deserted.

Imprisonment of Félix Gallardo

Although imprisoned, Félix Gallardo remained one of the largest smugglers in Mexico, managing his cartel by mobile telephone until he was moved to the Altiplano maximum security prison in the 1990s, where he served part of his 37 year sentence.

As he was aging, Félix Gallardo complained that while in jail he worked in poor conditions. He claims he suffers from vertigo, deafness, sight loss and problems with blood circulation. He stays in a cell of 240 around 440 cm, which he is not allowed to leave, even for recreational use.

In March 2013, when he reached his 70th birthday, which was on 8 January 2016, Félix Gallardo began a legal process to continue his sentence at home. A Mexican federal court denied a petition by Félix Gallardo on 29 April 2014 to be transferred from the maximum-security prison to a medium-security one. On 18 December 2014, due to his declining health, the federal authorities approved his application to transfer to a medium-security prison in Guadalajara City.

The court stated that the prosecution of Félix Gallardo did not give them enough evidence to prove that his health problems were putting his life at risk.
