She had previously interned at Sotheby’s after writing a letter to the Edinburgh office. Between her first two years of university, she interned at Sotheby’s catalogue production department. She was also apart of Sotheby’s project training scheme and while there a job opening came up in 2002 at Sotheby’s Olympia.

Frances is an expert on the BBC Antiques Roadshow team where she specializes in pictures. She joined the team in 2015. On the show, she has valued some wonderful paintings including a portrait by Trinidadian artist Boscoe Holder which his nephew brought along to a show at Senate House in London and a little Lowry drawing that was sketched for a bus driver on the back of his uniform list.
