When did she start her gymnastics career?

Ohashi began gymnastics training at the age of three with the greatest coach at ‘Gymnastics East’ in Bellevue. Ohashi completed her “elite” training when she was 14 years old.

Junior Career

Ohashi competed in her first national gymnastics competition, the ‘Junior Olympic National Championship,’ in 2009. She took first place in floor exercise, second place in uneven bars, fourth place in the all-around, and seventh place in the vault. Ohashi competed in her first elite meet at the ‘U.S. Classic’ in Des Moines, Iowa, where she placed fourth in the junior division on the floor, sixth on the balance beam, and ninth in the all-around. Soon after Nationals in Texas, Ohashi relocated to Plano to train at WOGA. In the junior division of the 2010 U.S. Classic in Chicago, Ohashi earned silver medals in the all-around, bars, beam, and floor.

Ohashi won the bars title, finished third in the all-around, and tied for fourth on the floor in the National Championships in Hartford, Connecticut, in July. She finished sixth on the balance beam and seventh on the vault.

Katelyn Ohashi competed for the United States in the ‘City of Jesolo Trophy’ in 2011.
