Writer and producer Janine Eser is of South African and American descent. She worked on the Academy Award-winning movie Tsotsi as the screenplay editor and an Associate Producer (2005). She created the six-part miniseries Madiba (2017) on Nelson Mandela (starring Laurence Fishburne on BET in 2017). For co-writing Fanie Fourie’s Lobola, Janine was nominate for the Best Screenplay Award at the 2014 South African Film and Television Awards (2013). Gavin Hood is the ex-husband of South African writer Janine. They were married in 1994. After 10 years of romantic relationship. The pair want to divorce each other in 2004. Reason behind their divorce is not updated till now. 

Gavin Hood was born on May 12, 1963 in Johannesburg, South Africa. His height is 6′ 1″ (1.85 m). He is an actor and director, known for Official Secrets (2019), Tsotsi (2005) and Eye in the Sky (2015). A former lawyer, he studied film at the University of California,and began his screen career as an actor. In 2000, he replaced the ill Polish director Maciej Dutkiewicz, who was shooting In Desert and Wilderness (2001) (aka “In Desert and Wilderness”) in South Africa.

His screenplay for “A Reasonable Man” was a semifinalist script in both the 1993 and 1994 Academy Nicholl Fellowships. He directed, produced, and starred in the film which was released in 1999.
