Jerry developed an interest in stand-up comedy after he had a few brief stint in college productions. With this interest, Seinfeld went immediately from college graduation to an amateur night try-out at New York’s Catch a Rising Star in 1976. He did not stop there, he continued to perform in local clubs and the Catskill Mountain Resorts.
In 1976, he performed on the HBO special of Rodney Dangerfield and gave an amazing performance. This performance really boosted his career. When Seinfeld was 27, he finally secured his first successful spot on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in May 1981.
