Weili Zhang is a Chinese mixed martial artist who used to be the formal champion of straw weight in Kunlun Fight. She currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) straw-weight division. UFC’s first Chinese champion Zhang Weili replied to Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s upcoming opponent’s social media post making the ongoing Wuhan coronavirus light up.
Zhang, who will defend her belt for the first time in Las Vegas on March 7, responded in her own Instagram post.
“To make fun of tragedy is a true sign of one’s character,” Zhang wrote. “People are dying, someone’s father, someone’s mother, someone’s child.”

Weili Zhang was born in Hebei, China in the year 1989. Zhang started her MMA
training after watching other people practice BJJ in the gym, where she used to
work as a fitness instructor. She studied Sports Science in Rome, Italy,
thinking about her educational attainments. There aren’t many specifics about
her family background and friends.
Each year, on August 13, Zhang celebrates her birthday making her current
age 29. Record breaker Zhang stands 5 feet high and 4 inches high. She weighs

Career in MMA
In 2013 Zhang made his professional MMA debut. Since unanimously losing her
professional debut to Meng Bo, she would go on to win 11 straight fights before
challenging Simone Duarte on May 25, 2017 at Kunlun Fight MMA 11 for the Kunlun
Female Straw Weight Championship. She won the fight in the second round via
TKO.
On 1 June 2017 at Kunlun Fight MMA 12 Zhang made her first title defense
against Aline Settelmeyer. She won by unanimous decision in the fight.
Zhang tried to win a second title on July 22, 2017, when she challenged Ye
Dam Seo at TOP FC 15 for the vacant Top FC Straw weight championship. She won
the fight to capture the title via TKO in the second round.
Zhang made her second KLF title defense against at Kunlun Fight MMA 14
against Marilia Santos in her next fight on August 28, 2017. She won the fight
in the second round via TKO.
Zhang would fight for KLF yet again, accumulating a 16-1 record and
improving her winning streak to 16 before getting a call to the UFC.

Danielle Taylor at UFC 227. She won the battle by unanimous decision.
Zhang fought Jessica Aguilar at UFC Fight Night on 24
November 2018: Blaydes vs. Ngannou 2. She won the fight via a round one
submission.
On 3 March 2019, Zhang was facing Tecia Torres at UFC 235.
She won the battle by unanimous decision.
