Lori Locust is a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) and has been the assistant defensive line coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 2019. She previously served as the assistant defensive line coach for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football during the league’s inaugural season and also served as a defensive line coaching intern for the Baltimore Ravens during the team’s training camp.

Lori Locust Husband

Lori was married to Andrew Locust who was a defensive back for Temple football coaches Wayne Hardin and then Arians, playing alongside future NFL defensive backs Ross, Todd Bowles and Anthony Young. He was a member of the Owls football team from 1982 to 1984. Lori and Andrew were married for 19 years before they divorced due to unknown reasons.

Lori Locust Coach Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Lori is the Assistant Defensive Line Coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She has been with the team since 2019 and together with Defensive Line Coach Kacy Rodgers, they led a defensive line unit that plugged the gaps for the league’s top run defense in 2019. Tampa Bay ranked first in the NFL, allowing 73.8 rushing yards per game and 3.26 yards per rush. The defensive line unit also played a critical role in helping the Buccaneers defense post the second-highest single-season sack total in franchise history with 47 takedowns.

Locust previously served as the assistant defensive line coach for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football during the league’s inaugural season. In 2018, she was a defensive line coaching intern for the Baltimore Ravens during the team’s training camp and, from 2017-18, she worked as a defensive line/linebackers coach and co-special teams coordinator of the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks of the National Arena League.

She also held roles as an assistant coach with the Central Penn Piranha, a semi-professional team in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from 2013-16, the DMV Elite semi-professional team from 2016-18 and the Keystone Assault of the Women’s Football Alliance from 2008-12 and again from 2017-18. In addition, Locust was the defensive line coach for the East Preps Team America Talent Showcase in 2017-18, coaching in the 2017 and 2018 Globe Bowls as well as the 2017 FCS Bowl. She was also a player in women’s semi-professional football.

Lori Locust Maral Javadifar

Javadifar is a strength and conditioning assistant and a former college basketball player who has a doctorate in physical therapy, and she offers the Bucs training expertise. She entered her second season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. Lori and Maral will become the first female coaches in a Super Bowl.  Javadifar grew up in the New York City borough of Queens, but her family is from Iran. Her mother, Mojgan Mobasheri, fled the war-torn Middle Eastern country in the early-1980s.
