She is a noblewoman (descendant of the wife of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Francesco de ‘Medici), but above all, she is an expert and passionate about English literature.

She graduated from the University of Vicenza with a degree in English literature and met Mario when they were both 19, on the Brenta Riviera in the summer of 1966, through mutual friends. The couple have two daughters together: Federica and Giacomo.
