We all know that fashion goes in cycles, and something which may be bang on trend one year could be the height of cringe the next year.

We’re going to quickly run through some of the trends that we’re likely to see over the next twelve months, some of which are making a return from years gone by and others which are right at the cutting edge.

Asymmetrical Hoops

Last year saw thick, oversized hoops make a big comeback, but this year in the world of earrings, it’s all about asymmetrical hoops.

We’re not sure exactly where this trend came from, although it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s just an excuse to be able to put two random earrings on when you’re rushing out of the door!

You can be as bold and loud as you want with these pieces, or you might want to just tweak the colour or shape on one side for a mismatched but chic look.

Layered Necklaces

Instead of chokers, 2018 looks to be the year of layered necklaces, using a small chain which kind of acts like a choker alongside longer necklaces too.

Just be careful to think about what types of necklaces you’re using with each other. You need to ensure a good variety of lengths so that they don’t overlap too much.

Also, consider whether you want the necklaces to match in colour or would rather mix it up.

You could also choose to just buy a tiered necklace such as this Michael Kors one from Silver Tree Jewellery so that you don’t have to worry about making sure everything matches.

Brass Midi/Pinkie Rings

Brass rings give your look a real rustic, vintage vibe, with lots of brands offering midi ring versions which you can also wear on your pinkie too!

These smaller rings are supposed to be worn just above the knuckle and can be layered with other rings too. Check out this post from E! News for more ways on how to rock the midi ring!

Anklets

The British weather probably dictates that your ankles are gonna be pretty well wrapped up the majority of the time, but when the sun finally decides to show its face again and if you’ve already covered your wrists, fingers and neck in jewellery, why not try an anklet?

These boho-chic pieces usually feature a faux diamond or pearl and are a great way to complete your summer holiday outfit.

Statement Earrings

Statement earrings are making a splash at the moment, whether they feature dramatic drop designs, fancy tassels, or are just classic styles with an oversized look.

The fact that they’re so big can be a bit much, not just in terms of how they look but also for the weight that they put on your ears, so they’re certainly not everyone, but they’re a great way to make an impression, especially if you wear your hair up to really show them off! Check out these examples from Elite Daily to see what we mean!

These are just some of the jewellery trends that we could be seeing more of for the rest of 2018, so will you be trying any of them out for yourself?
