Stacey Jaclyn Dooley was born in Luton, Bedfordshire, on March 9, 1987. Her father was an Irish immigrant who abandoned the family when she was barely two years old. Her father was an alcoholic who died before Dooley could reconcile with him while she was in her twenties.

Dooley’s mother met Norman and had a loving connection with him. At their mother’s wedding, she and her sister were bridesmaids. Furthermore, Stacey grew up in her mother’s care.  Dooley grew up in Luton and attended Stopsley High School.
