Fjellhoy admitted to ABC News that he duped her out of $200,000 in the end. She even claimed to have checked herself into a psychiatric facility as a result of the phony relationship’s emotional hardship.
Hayut was finally apprehended in 2019 during a joint Interpol-Israeli Police operation. According to a Variety report from 2021, he was apprehended when he was discovered with a phony passport. Later that year, he was sentenced to 15 months in prison and ordered to pay $43,289 in restitution. Fjellhoy is still in London and going about her business.
