In March 1987, when she was three months pregnant, Jim Carrey married the former actress and waitress Melissa Womer. Jane Erin Carrey was born in Los Angeles, California, six months later, on 6 September.

Jim and Melissa had been married for eight years before their relationship disintegrated. Carrey was a very depressive person, according to Womer, and on several instances she had to stay up until four or five in the morning, counseling him.

While Carrey has been a frequent cast member of “In Living Color” over their last years of marriage, it has been his leap to stardom with “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” that put the final strain on the relationship.

“From a single man’s viewpoint, he decided he wanted to experience success,” Womer said. However, Carrey was already in a relationship with actress Lauren Holly by the time their divorce was fully implemented.

Soon afterwards, Jane’s family became unstable with her father getting married to Holly only to divorce her after a few months.

The actor then continued to have other high-profile relationships with stars such as Renee Zellweger and Jenny McCarthy, with whom he dated for five years and who possibly had the best relationship with Jane of all the girlfriends of her father.

Steps for Jane, from her parents

After the divorce between Carrey and Womer was settled, the former pair agreed to a joint separation agreement, and the star was forced to pay the then-7-year-old Jane Erin Carrey $10k in child support per month.

Eight years later, though, Jane Carrey’s mother filed court papers asking a judge to raise the payment that Carrey had earned.

She said she needed more money to provide Jane, then a teenager, with the same “prestigious lifestyle” she was used to when she was in her father’s company.

The year of wedding, Jane weds Alex

Jane Carrey, 22, married Alex Santana, the lead singer of Blood Money, a Milwaukee heavy metal band, in November 2009.

“It has been a lovely day. Simple and sweet, “Carrey said of his daughter’s marriage to People. “I wish them all the love god has given us.”

Alex Santana and Jane Erin Carrey were already expecting their first child at the time of the wedding, and just three months later, in February 2010, they welcomed their just son, Jackson Riley Santana.

Reason for Jane Erin Carrey’s Divorce

Jane’s marital relationship with Alex had been going well. They and son Riley were happy together. Yet the pair broke up as a justification for their divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Jim Carrey’s daughter has embarked on her career as a songwriter / singer in the entertainment industry. Her ex-husband is a stage performer with his rock band Blood Money, famous for the label Nitro.

The two ex-couples have not given any particular reasons for divorce. They did not mention any abuse or adultery when filing for their divorce, misconduct by either of them.

We seem to believe there’s no way we can sort out their issues and save the marriage. Their profession was special. Perhaps it may have been their busy life that pushed them to split and live single.

Jane remained apart from her ex-husband until they formally separated in 2011. The ex-couple vowed to remain as friends after divorce and continue to become dedicated parents to their son.

Jackson is their only child together, and was born just three months after Jane and Santana married in February 2010. Carrey, 49, had been delighted by his first grandchild’s birth.
