Anyone who visits Alberta only ever goes to the same few places: Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and Jasper. The thing is, Alberta has literally hundreds of places just as gorgeous as these three, so why does everyone insist on cramming into the same parking lots when there is so much else to see? Waterton Lakes National Park is arguably the most underrated spot in all of Alberta, and you totally need to check it out this summer and see why.
Straddling the border between Montana and Alberta, Waterton Lakes is one of the most stunning spots in all of North America. The crystal clear lake goes on as far as you can see, and the surrounding mountains make for a majestic skyline. Need any more convincing? Check out these pics:
There’s also some unreal hikes in the area. The lush greenery and gorgeous mountain meadows with bird’s eye view of the lakes make for some of the most beautiful views ever. You’ll definitely experience one of those moments where you are just so struck by the natural beauty of the world that you might even tear up.
There’s also known to be quite a lot of wildlife in the area, especially bears. So don’t forget the bear spray if you’re heading up the mountain for a hike!
All in all, this is definitely a place you need to check out this summer. Don’t let the sun set on your chance to get here before everyone else discovers it!
